CACIC 2000 will take place in the city of Ushuaia, from the 2nd to the 7th of October, 2000, and will be organized by the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco (Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco). Together with the Scientific Congress, the following events will take place: a Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Processing, a Workshop on Intelligent Systems and Agents, an Athenaeum of University Professors of Computer Sciences, a Meeting of Post-Graduate Students writing their Theses, and the International School of Computer Sciences of CACIC. This is the first call for papers submission to participate in CACIC 2000. Papers should be original, they should be about relevant research topics and computer applications, not previously published and/or submitted to be published elsewhere in substantially similar versions. They will be evaluated according to originality, clarity and contribution to Computer Sciences. The selected papers whose authors confirm their assistance to the event will be published in the Conference Proceedings and, depending on the referees opinion, will be eligible for publication in the Journal of Computer Science & Technology, which is internationally edited. In addition to this, there is a poster session aimed at results and developing projects that will be presented during the conference. An abstract of each of the papers accepted as posters will be published in the Congress Proceedings.
