CLIN-96 First Announcement CLIN-96 Seventh Computational Linguistics in the Netherlands Meeting Friday, 15 November 1996 Institute for Perception Research (IPO) Eindhoven We are very happy to announce the seventh CLIN meeting, which will be hosted by the Institute for Perception Research (IPO) in Eindhoven. The meeting will take place in the IPO-building at the site of Eindhoven University of Technology. The local organisers of this year's meeting are Kees van Deemter, Jan Landsbergen, Jan Odijk en Gert Veldhuijzen van Zanten. The guest speaker of CLIN 96 is Stephen Pulman SRI International, Cambridge & University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory The topic of his talk will be announced later. Researchers are invited to present papers on all aspects of computational linguistics (morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, computational lexicography, formal languages, grammar formalisms, knowledge representation, corpus-oriented methods, etc.). Authors should submit an abstract, preferably by e-mail, in flat ASCII, to the local organisers. The abstract should contain: - a title - your name, address, affiliation, and e-mail address - a short (10-20 lines) outline of the paper The languages of the conference will be English and Dutch. Authors are requested to write their abstract in the language in which they intend to give their presentation. Notification of acceptance (by e-mail): 4 October 1996 A volume with proceedings of the Sixth CLIN meeting (held 1 December 1995 in Antwerp) should be available at this year's meeting. It is our intention that a volume of the proceedings of CLIN 1996 will be produced before CLIN 1997. Papers for these proceedings will have to be written in English; they will be reviewed by a programme committee to be appointed in due time.
