CALL FOR PAPERS Hungarian Academy of Sciences Research Institute for Linguistics and the HAS Centre in Pecs, University Paris 7 Laboratories d'Automatique Documentaire et Linguistique Janus Pannonius University Pecs COMPLEX '99 5th Conference on Computational Lexicography and Text Research Pecs Hungary 16-19 June 1999 The Organisers invite the submission of papers for Complex '99, to be organised in Pecs, Hungary between June 16 and 19, 1999. Topics of interest: Papers are invited on substantial, original, and unpublished research on all aspects of computational lexicography, including, but not limited to, the following: - lexical databases and electronic dictionaries, - corpora and corpus-based research, - parallel corpora, - critical review of SGML tools, - lexicons and software tools for machine translation. A detailed abstract of the proposed paper not exceeding 5 double spaced pages should be sent to Ms Julia Pajzs in 5 copies by 31 December 1998 to the following address: Julia Pajzs Research Institute for Linguistics Hungarian Academy of Sciences Budapest PO Box 19. H-1250 Hungary All papers will be reviewed by an international programme committee. The program chairs are Ferenc Kiefer (HAS) and Maurice Gross (LADL). Please, do not send the abstracts in electronic format, we can only accept printed versions for reviewing. The time slot given for presentations will be 40 minutes (including 10 minutes for discussion). Authors will be notified about the acceptance or rejection of the preliminary version of their paper by the end of February, 1999. The deadline for submitting a final version (not exceeding 10 pages) of the papers accepted for the volume of proceedings is 15 April, 1999. As usual, we will have a number of guest speakers, including Thierry Fontenelle, (organiser of the last Congress of EURALEX), who has already accepted our invitation. In addition, Max Silberztein from LADL agreed to give a demonstration on the INTEX corpus retrieval and analyser tool. The registration fee for the conference is 500 DM. We still have a reduced fee for participants coming from the former socialist countries. The special fee is 300 DM.
