Call for Papers "A collection of papers on Formal Grammar, Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar, and Categorial Grammar." (Working title) edited by Gosse Bouma, Erhard Hinrichs, Geert-Jan Kruijff, and Richard Oehrle CSLI Studies in Constraint-Based Lexicalism, volume II Dear FHCG 98/ FG 97/ HPSG 97 speaker, Following our announcement at the FHCG conference in Saarbruecken, August, 1998, we write to inform you about our plans to collect a number of papers in a volume to appear with CSLI. A similar collection of papers, "Lexical and Constructional Aspects of Linguistic Explanation", edited by Gert Webelhuth, Jean-Pierre Koenig, and Andreas Kathol, has just appeared as volume I in the new CSLI series "Studies in Constraint-Based Lexicalism". PROCEDURE We are aiming at a collection of (approximately 20) high-quality papers on topics which are typically adressed at the Formal Grammar and HPSG conferences. We are aiming at publication by June, 1999. The CSLI series does not intend to publish conference proceedings or collections of working papers. This implies that: (a) there will be a separate round of reviewing and selection, (c) there will be a rather strict time-schedule, (b) submission of papers is not restricted to those who presented a paper at the FHCG 98 conference. INVITATION We are writing to all those who have given presentations at the FHCG98 conference (Saarbruecken) , the Formal Grammar 97 conference (Aix), or the HPSG 97 conference (Ithaca). If you want to submit a paper for the CSLI volume, based on the presentation you gave at one of these conferences, please let us know before October, 1. The paper you submit must represent original work, which has not been published elsewhere, except in the form of a paper included in the FHCG 98 or Formal Grammar 97 proceedings. (N.b. A substantial number of papers presented at the HPSG 97 conference was included in the volume edited by Webelhuth, Koenig, and Kathol. The invitiation to submit to HPSG 97 speakers is intended only for those whose work was not already published in the Webelhuth et al. volume.)
