=================================================================== Special Issue of the International Journal of Web Engineering and Technology (IJWET) INTERNET AND DATABASE TECHNOLOGIES IN BUSINESS =================================================================== AIMS AND SCOPE -------------- The aim of this special issue of the IJWET Journal is to present the research that is being carried out at universities and in industry to solve the problems related to the construction of innovative business applications. The stress is put on real-world industrial experiences and projects, as well as innovative technologies and infrastructures for building e-commerce and e-business solutions. This issue of IJWET aims also at developing a framework for better understanding the application of research achievements in modern information systems comprising Web technologies, database and data warehouse technologies, data integration, data analysis, and decision support. TOPICS -------------- Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Web technologies and services: advanced multiparty interaction models, e-commerce, standards; 2. Wireless communication and data exchange; 3. Electronic contracts: Service Level Agreements, requirements elicitation, automated and semi-automated negotiation, monitoring; 4. Data and application integration: federated systems, mediated systems, data warehouses, accessing legacy systems via Web; 5. Management of evolution in information systems: temporal and multiversion databases, temporal and multiversion data warehouses, adaptive user interfaces; 6. New platforms for developing Web, distributed and wireless systems: Microsoft .NET, Sun One, IBM Web Sphere, Oracle Internet Application Server; 7. Industrial and research IT projects: reports from finished and ongoing projects in the field of Web and database technologies. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES --------------------- High quality submissions presenting new achievements in the above mentioned areas are welcome. Every submission, in a Word, PS, or PDF format, should clearly present problems, solutions, and its contribution. Papers should not exceed 15 standard document A4 pages (Times New Roman 10 pts., double interline) and should be e-mailed to: Robert.Wrembel@cs.put.poznan.pl IMPORTANT DATES --------------- Notification of interest - abstract submission: May 15, 2003 Full paper submission (strict deadline): May 23, 2003 Results of the reviewing process: June 30, 2003 Final camera-ready paper due: July 25, 2003 REVIEWING --------- In order to ensure a high quality of accepted submissions the following rules will be used: 1. papers are blindly reviewed by 2 or 3 experts in the field of submission's domain; 2. the reviewers' recommendations determine whether a paper will be: (1) accepted, (2) accepted subject to change, (3) accepted subject to resubmission with significant changes, or (4) rejected; 3. for papers which require changes, the same reviewers will be assigned to ensure that the quality of the revised paper is acceptable. PUBLISHING ---------- Accepted papers will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Web Engineering and Technology, by Inderscience Publishers (http://www.inderscience.com/).
