---------------- Section on Search and Information Retrieval for the Web The 4th International Conference on Internet Computing (IC'2003) Monte Carlo Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA June 23th - 26th, 2003 Call for papers Search is one of the most important applications on the Web. However, there are still many issues that should be addressed in the design and implementation of search and mining applications for the Web. The focus of this section includes, but is not limited to: - Algorithms and data structures for search - Web graph analysis and ranking - Federated and P2P search - Indexing techniques - XML search and indexing - Data and content management for the Web - Web mining and machine learning - Result quality evaluation - Web query characteristics - Indexing and search performance - Fuzzy and approximate search Research papers and industrial reports on the above issues (or on any issue related to Web search and IR) are welcome. The review process will be based on the quality of the submitted papers and their relevance to the area. Papers should have up to 7 single sided pages with font size of 10 to 12, including figures and references. Papers should be submitted by e- mail to the organizers in PDF. The first page of the draft paper should include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number for each author. Accepted papers will be part of the conference proceedings. The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (IEEE style) pages. Papers must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. IC'03 is a part of a multiconference that constitutes major gathering of researchers around the world. Last year's multiconference event attracted contributions from 72 countries as well as over 1,550 participants from all over the world. IC'02 got over 90 submissions from more than 18 countries and attracted over 120 participants. The IC series is determined to bring together researchers from Academia and Industry and to establish a high-quality framework for collaboration and discussion on Internet related issues. We encourage submission of research papers on protocol and application design, Multimedia over IP, performance evaluation, measurements, resource management and Internet QoS. We also encourage experience reports from measurement and/or simulation tools, communication middleware and network management protocols. Mechanisms/applications that bridge the gap between the wired and wireless Internet are of special interest. You are invited to submit original high-quality papers that are currently not under review by any other conference or journal and/or proposals to organize technical sessions. All papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee. The Program Committee will also collaborate with Technical Session Organizers. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Selected papers will be published in a renowned Journal (e.g. Computer Communications (Elsevier), Journal of Supercomputing (Kluwer)).
