We are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Undergraduate Summer Workshop in Cognitive Science, at the University of Pennsylvania's Institute for Research in Cognitive Science (IRCS), the site of the National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center for Research in Cognitive Science. This workshop will gather a select national/international group of students who are interested in the growing fields of Cognitive Science and Cognitive Neuroscience. This program is designed to be an intense two-week workshop introducing students to Cognitive Science research, and providing close interaction with Penn's leading researchers in the study of language, perception and thought. Students in the workshop will participate in: * Lectures from prominent research figures in cognitive science and cognitive neuroscience * Hands-on labs using some of the latest technologies and methods in cognitive science * Opportunity to present your own work * Panel discussion on the future of cognitive science Labs and Lab Tours will include: * Free-Head Eyetracking Lab * Language Development Lab * Visuo-Motor Lab * Graphics, Animation, and Modeling Lab * Event-Related Potential Lab (ERP) * Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) * Natural Language Processing Lab Lectures and Workshops will include: * On-line Language Processing * Language Development * Cognitive Neuroscience * Visual Perception * Robotics, Action and Perception * Computational Modeling of Language Admitted participants will be provided with accommodations at the Penn Dormitories and a food plan through the dining services.
