The PRISE window is used to: o Select a server o Select a database to search o Handle options o Set Z39.50 session parameters the zclient will request o View current parameters as negotiated with the server o View the log of messages about zclient operation To select a server: Click on the "Server" button and choose a server from the pull-down list. The zclient closes any existing session with a server and initializes a session with the chosen server. In sessions with the NIST zserver, the zclient will request a list of databases available on the server. To select a database: After you have selected a server, click on the "Database" button and choose a database from the pull-down list. In sessions with the NIST zserver, a list of searchable fields for the selected database will be requested from the zserver for use in field-level queries. To manage options: Click on the "options" menu bar item and choose from the pull-down list that appears: Click on "Parameters" to set Z39.50 session parameters the zclient will request when connecting to the server. Click on "Status" to see the Z39.50 session parameters in force after the zclient has connected to a server. Click on "Messages" to see the zclient's message log.
